Spread the Love Drive
Help create small moments of care for young people facing homelessness and major life transitions across North Texas.
TRAC’s Spread the Love Drive is a simple, tangible way to remind young people they are seen, valued, and supported. Comfort items and short notes of encouragement help make our drop-in centers welcoming, grounding spaces—especially on days when things feel heavy.
What “Spread the Love” Is
Young people who come to TRAC are often carrying the effects of abuse, neglect, and chronic instability. Those experiences don’t disappear once housing or employment support begins—they can show up daily in stress, sleep, focus, and emotional regulation.
Trauma-informed care means recognizing those realities while responding with respect, choice, and consistency. Spread the Love is one way our community can support that work: by helping us stock everyday items that bring comfort and normalcy, and by sharing words that affirm worth and possibility.
How to Participate
Donate Comfort Items
We’re collecting self-care and comfort items to support young people (ages 16–24) who visit TRAC drop-in centers.
Most Needed Items:
- Individually packaged snacks
- Refillable water bottles
- Journals, notebooks, and pens
- Adult coloring books
- Stress-relief items (fidget tools, calming activities
Write a short note of encouragement
You can also write a short affirmation letter for a young person—something they can return to when days feel heavy.
These notes don’t need to be profound. A few steady sentences can go a long way:
- “You deserve care today.”
- “I’m rooting for you.”
- “You have what it takes to keep going.”
- “Your future is worth building.”
If you need help crafting your letter, feel free to email us at giving@traconline.org.
“Many of the young people we work with are used to inconsistency. Being a constant presence—through both accomplishments and setbacks—shows them they can depend on us, and helps build trust and confidence over time.”
– Coach Hannah
Drop-off Locations
You can drop off supplies anytime at either TRAC drop-in center:
Dallas Drop-In Center
3108 Live Oak St, Dallas
Fort Worth Drop-In Center
4532 Altamesa Blvd, Fort Worth
Why it Matters
A snack. A journal. A refillable water bottle. A few kind words.
These gestures may seem small, but they help young people feel supported right now – not only after a major milestone. When a young person is working toward stability, moments of comfort and connection can reinforce something essential: you are worthy of care today.
