Opportunities to get involved.

Mentor - Lunchtime Hostess - PAL Class Aide - Special Event Volunteer

TRAC is a one stop resource for current and former foster youth. We are a transition center that helps them find a job, locate affordable housing, learn valuable life skills and offers support in their transition to independence. Interested in helping out? There are a number of ways to volunteer your time and efforts and get involved with TRAC, please take a look at the list. If something interests you, contact Katie Anderson at 214.370.9300 x27 or email her for more information.

For more information, or to be contacted about volunteer opportunities, please fill out our Volunteer Interest Form.

For all volunteer positions there is an application process and background check that must be completed and cleared by the State prior to working with TRAC youth.

Be a Mentor
Who in your life saw your potential? Who recognized your strengths? Who showed you a better way to do things or think about a problem? Who encouraged you to explore beyond your limits? Who challenged you because they believed in who you could become? For many of us, that was our family. For some, it may have been the neighbor or a teacher. These people are our mentors.

Mentors are people who choose to be our friends, coaches, cheerleaders, confidants, advisors, and tutors. They choose to spend time with us, with no strings attached, because they care. If you care, contact TRAC!

Lunchtime Hostess
Lunchtime Hostesses commit to providing healthy meals to be served to TRAC youth while they wait to meet with their Case Manager or Job Coach.  Volunteers are needed to prepare and provide nutritious meals for approximately 30 youth.  Meals are served on Thursdays and should be delivered, ready to eat around noon.  This is a great opportunity for a small group or professional organization.

PAL Class Aide
Our PAL Class Aides assist the facilitator in delivering class lessons to the youth. Bi-lingual skills are a plus, but not necessary. We need individuals who are patient and can assist the youth with comprehension of material, as well as answer questions and work through problems with them.

Special Event Volunteer
Throughout the year, TRAC needs volunteer to assist with special events for the youth.  These include our annual College Kick-off Party, the Regional Teen Conference and our Holiday Party.  Opportunities include: serving meals, helping with programming, speaking engagements and organizing and preparing "kits" for the youth.
